TIPS: How to contact Scarlett Johansson ?
posted on May 26, 2011
She's a famous face in Hollywood, but Scarlett Johansson is barely recognisable in her latest photo shoot.
The 26-year-old emulates former stars of the silver screen including Buster Keaton, Marlene Dietrich and Sarah Bernhardt in an unusual photo shoot for W Magazine.
The issue was a tribute to director Woody Allen and his 'women' - with Scarlett among his many modern day muses.
In the first striking photograph, taken by Tim Walker and styled by Jacob K, the Vicky Christina Barcelona star portrayed Sarah Bernhardt, the French stage actress from the 1870's.
Posing in an all white outfit, complete with white face make-up and dramatic black eyes and lips, Scarlett looks like an exaggerated caricatured version of the notorious star.
For several of the pictures Scarlet donned a pin-striped suit and straw boater hat to portray Buster Keaton - a silent film actor and director from the 1920's.
The cinema icon earned the nickname The Great Stone Face for his stoic deadpan expression and in the photographs Scarlett copies the scowl and sad face as she poses with a magnifying glass.
The next portrait shows Scarlett as Italian actress Guilietta Masina, the wife and muse of famed director Frederico Fellini who's starring role was in Oscar winner La Strada.
Scarlett posed with a trumpet in honour of Gulietta's last wish to have a trumpet player perform La Strada by Nino Rota at her funeral.
The actress looked the spitting image of the petite blonde star complete with cropped hair and signature black bowler hat.
The final picture in the editorial spread Scarlett embodied one of the greatest female stars of all time - German born actress Marlene Dietrich.
With her naturally blonde hair dyed a rich reddish brown and curled into voluminous waves, and with flawless 1930's inspired make-up, the young actress looked the spitting image of the sultry star.
The beautiful set of pictures will be featured in the June 2011 issue of the famed fashion magazine, on newsstands now.

Could this be a sign that new Scarlett Johansson album might be coming soon?
Back in March, ScarJo dropped a hauntingly beautiful new track called One Whole Hour, from the soundtrack for Wretches & Jabberers, a documentary on autism.
Now, we've learned that Scarlett has more music on the way! This time, she's collaborated with Massive Attack for a track called Summertime, which will be the main song of the Mexican movie Days of Grace.
A ScarJo/Massive Attack song? We're intrigued!
What do U think of that combination? Are U excited to hear a song by Massive ScarTack?

First of all, these clothes aren't from Talbot's..they're from a Spanish line called Mango.
And for the record, even if they were from Talbot's, we wouldn't have a problem with that. Our founding editor has a serious "Mothers I'd Like to Fahrvergnügen" fetish (as evidenced by his current Top Five Hotties list), and besides – there’s something about leaving things to the imagination that imaginative people enjoy.
Anyway, the usually bodaciously-curved Johansson is looking almost "heroin chic-y" in these pics, which some have speculated is the result of excessive airbrushing.
Frankly, we prefer Scar Jo in all her curvaceous glory … as does she.
"Being ultra-thin is not sexy at all," Johansson has said in the past. "Women shouldn't be forced to conform to unrealistic and unhealthy body images that the media promote"
We agree..
Johansson, 26, is currently rumored to be dating actor Sean Penn. Previously, she has dated Benicio del Toro, Jared Leto, Justin Timberlake and Josh Hartnett. In 2008, she married actor Ryan Reynolds, but the couple separated last December.

He's old enough to be her father, and his kids are almost her age, but 26-year-old Scarlett Johansson has reportedly got her heart set on making 50-year-old Sean Penn a baby daddy again.
Unfortunately he doesn't feel the same way.
"Sean's telling her that he has no interest in starting a new family, but she's determined to have a child with him," a pal tells In Touch magazine.
Scarlett's mum is dead against the idea too, and according to the mag she's urging her daughter to slow down the relationship - which has only been going on for a few months.
"Given Sean's bad-boy past, she's naturally worried that he's wrong for Scarlett," the insider says. "But so far her pleas have fallen on deaf ears."

Washington, D.C. (May 12, 2011) -- Following our extremely popular contest, 'HD Hottie Hysteria,' we've started a new feature in which we will highlight a top female star every day. The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day.
Today's 'HD Hottie' is Scarlett Johansson, who stars tonight in high-def in He's Just Not That Into You at 10 p.m. ET on HBO Signature.
The 26-year-old actress, who was born in New York, began as a child actress, appearing in such movies as Ghost World and The Horse Whisperer.
But her first starring role was in Sofia Coppola's 2003 film, Lost In Translation, opposite Bill Murray. The movie made her Hollywood's new 'It Girl' and she was soon cast in a slew of films including The Island, The Black Dahlia and Woody Allen's Match Point.
She teamed again with Woody in the Oscar-nominated Vicky Christina Barcelona, and she released her first solo album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, in 2008. She has also teamed with Peter Yorn for her second album, called Break Up.
Scarlett also recently starred in He's Just Not That Into You, and she was featured in Iron Man 2, which is now available on Blu-ray. Scarlett has several new movies in the works, including The Avengers in which she will reprise her character from Iron Man 2.
Scarlett also announced that she is divorcing her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, but she is now reportedly dating Sean Penn.

SCARLETT Johansson debuted a dramatic red 'do at a glitzy Washington DC dinner last week, and certainly turned heads.
Scarlett Johansson, who has separated from husband of two years Ryan Reynolds, had swapped her long blonde waves for a tousled Titian bob.
She is not the first celebrity to realise a change of hair colour is the perfect way to mark a fresh start: as well as attract attention.
A-listers from Charlize Theron to Kate Beckinsale have all hit the headlines after a trip to their favourite colourist.
However these stars are doing more than setting a trend, their choice of shade provides a key insight into their personalities.
If your hair colour owes more to a bottle than to genes, read on to see what your choice of hue says about you.
WHY: To attract attention and show off a feisty new attitude.
Redheads have a reputation for being fiery, so inwardly you'd love to be considered something of a live wire.
They are also seen as opinionated and strong.
Pros: If you clearly want to signal a new phase in your life (as Yvonne Keating did after Boyzone husband Ronan cheated) selecting a red shade is the best way forward. You'll find a new inner strength and self-belief.
Cons: You might find people a bit wary of you, particularly at work when it comes to discussions or disagreements. They won't want to light any fireworks so they may shy away from you which is undesirable when you want to be included in discussions.

Hollywood has made major bucks on its comic book adaptations, but the few efforts they've made to headline a woman hero have been abysmal failures: Halle Berry's "Catwoman" barely scratched the public's consciousness, while Jennifer Garner's Elektra was without spark. The good news, though, is that Marvel may be willing to give a lady superhero another solo shot.
Scarlett Johansson, who stars as Black Widow, first appeared on film in the black leather in "Iron Man 2," and now, alongside up with Chris Evans' Captain America, Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, Mark Ruffalo's The Hulk, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye and Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man, she'll help form The Avengers in the upcoming big screen epic due out next year. If that goes well, it could mean an entire film dedicated to the Soviet-born villain-turned-hero.
Speaking to Playlist, Marvel Film's co-head Kevin Feige said that they've spoken to Johannson about her own starring vehicle.
"There's no definitive plans, but we have started talking and talking with Scarlett about what a Widow movie could be," he said.
Feige also said that the studio was contemplating a feature for Renner's Hawkeye; both Black Widow and Hawkeye are part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. crime fighting group, which plays a major part in a number of Marvel films and could justify its own movie, too.
So, will it happen?
"Sometimes the answer is-when looking at a certain run of issues- 'no way' and sometimes the answer is 'maybe, let’s continue to explore it' and certainly with Hawkeye and Black Widow those are two that we're exploring," Feige said.
