Although Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn were photographed holding hands after the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night, it turns out their PDA was a little less chaste inside the event. Fellow attendees were shocked to see ScarJo sitting in her older man's lap at the dinner table and engaging in a makeout session one source described to Us magazine as "intense."
"It happened right as the main course of the dinner was being put on the table," noted the onlooker. Tacky!
"She plopped down in his lap, and they were kissing," an observer told the New York Post, adding that they disappeared from the room for "an hour" and Sean returned with his tie mussed. Super-tacky!
After dinner, the pair was separated, but they reconnected at the after-party. "Around 1 a.m. Sean showed up and he and Scarlett were immediately side by side for the rest of the night," said an Us magazine source. "When they were walking out the door, Sean stopped her, took off his jacket and put it on her shoulders, saying, 'It's cold out there.' They then grabbed hands and walked out before 3 a.m."
We're happy they're happy (not to mention hot and heavy). But come on, kids - if you're invited to a function with the president, show a little decorum!

IT'S not hard to see what lucky SEAN PENN sees in SCARLETT JOHANSSON.
The actor played a blinder getting the stunning actress to fall for his charms with talk of saving the planet.
She looks ready to do just that in this modelling snap for clothing chain Mango.
Mind you, if Scarlett was to go off trying to act the superhero, that squeaky clean white skirt would get properly grubby.
Sean could always get the Daz on it - that would really impress her.

Scarlett Johansson has done an amazing job as the ambassador for Mango, but like all good things, their journey together will be coming to an end. Take a quick look at her final images with the young, urban brand for their Summer 2011 campaign shoot. Johansson was styled by Melanie Ward, and Christiaan Houtenbos created a wet, slicked-back hair style, adding depth to the sunny set, while makeup artist Aaron De Mey added the necessary drama with darkly lines eyes. Scarlett Johanssons Mango ads are her last.
Scarlett Johansson recently wrapped shooting ads for the clothing brand, Mango, but it will be her last time as the Spanish brand's model. Scarlett sports a white skirt and waist clinching vest, which have people questioning how much airbrushing was done to the pictures considering the actress's extremely slender physique.
Scarlett is known for her curvaceous figure, while, in the ads for Mango, she looks more proportionate to a typical runway model. Furthermore, recent photos taken of her while running caused false rumors she was even pregnant, since she seemed to have a tummy.
While airbrushing is normal for magazine ads, her arms and legs look a lot thinner in the shots by photographer Mario Sorrenti. Representatives for Mango have not commented on the speculation, further raising eyebrows about extensive airbrushing.

It was a colourful night as a host of celebrities turned out to a cocktail party in an array bold designs.
But Scarlett Johansson was the one who edged into the spotlight, as she opted for an attention-grabbling little red dress.
With her hair in curls, the 26-year-old actress posed confidently in the ensemble, which she teamed with beige heels and a clutch bag.
Scarlett, who recently started dating actor Sean Penn - who at 50 is almost double her age - joined a plethora of stars at an Evening of Cocktails and Shopping hosted by Coach at Bad Robot in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, last night.
Penn was nowhere to be seen at the event, which was put on to benefit the Children's Defense Fund.
But Scarlett, who split from husband Ryan Reynolds last December, had plenty of shoulders to rub at the party.

Hiding behind her trilby hat, Scarlett Johansson looked eager to go unnoticed when she popped out for some groceries yesterday.
The Iron Man 2 star, who this week denied speculation she is pregnant, called into a supermarket in Malibu looking more like an undercover agent than a Hollywood siren.
Dressed down in a grey sweater, jeans and a leather biker jacket, Scarlett made a big effort to go unnoticed by keeping her gaze lowered and hiding her famous face under her hat.
Scarlett is rumoured to have moved into her boyfriend Sean Penn's nearby $3.8million seaside home.
The pair are still remaining tight-lipped about their relationship, but were spotted out jogging together this week near Sean's residence.
The actress's appearance that day sparked pregnancy rumours after she was pictured in her running gear looking more curvaceous than usual.
She quickly denied the rumours, with a spokesperson saying: 'She's outside running and it's simply the placement of her shirt that is misleading.'
They added: 'She's been training for The Avengers for over four months and is in the best shape of her life.'
It is believe Scarlett, 26, moved in with Penn, 50, just a few days earlier after having spent a prolonged amount of time in a West Hollywood hotel.
And Scarlett looked as if she may be settling in to the domestic set-up as she browsed the aisles of the grocery store, picking up a selection of items which included healthy brown rice cakes, edamane beans and a small bunch of flowers.
This week, a source told Us Weekly: '[Scarlett] has essentially moved in over the last few weeks.'
It is believed that the fiercely private couple have been spending a lot of their time together, but prefer to stay away from the prying eyes of the public at all costs.
Scarlett has only just finalised her divorce from ex-husband, Ryan Reynolds, and Penn has only been divorced a short time himself after his marriage to Forrest Gump star, Robin Wright, ended in August 2009.
For the time being, they wish to keep their social life as quiet and calm as possible.
The Us Weekly source added: 'They just stay home whenever they can.'
