Family Life
Scarlett Johansson was born in New York, on November 22, 1984. Her father was a Danish architect who moved to NY after he divorced his first wife. He married Melanie Johansson and has four children, Vanessa, Adrian, and the twins, Scarlett and Hunter. The she-twin apparently never wants to be the least on the line. Scarlett was born three minutes earlier, and she recalled it as the most important three minutes in her life. About her on-screen talent, as well as her siblings' talents, might it be because of the running blood? Anyway, her paternal grandfather, Ejner Johansson (1922-2001), was a screenwriter and director, a documentary filmmaker who also served as a host for Tema (Topic), a Danish talk show in the late 1960s.
By the age of 22, she had earned international recognition, numerous nominations and awards, as well as distinctive name in the Tinseltown because of her award-winning movies.
At the age of three, she had known that she wanted to be an actress. Realizing the passion for performing, when she was seven, Melanie took her and the other siblings to a commercial audition. Road to Fame
Her first performing debut was to play 'Sophistry' in 1993, an off-Broadway play. In this Playwright Horizons stage, she was performing together with Ethan Hawke.
After starred in several movies and gained a nomination for an independent movie, Manny and Lo (1997), she gained international recognition through Robert Redford's movie, "The Horse Whisperer" (1998).
Her name got real buzzed by Sofia Coppola's movie, Lost in Translation (2003), which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. She acted as a lonely newlywed who stayed in Japan and had a relationship with an American actor (played by Bill Murray).
Good scripts then were pouring into her like autumn leaves. She was cast as Griet in "Girl with a Pearl Earring" (2003) and starred in "A Love Song for Bobby Long" (2004) played with John Travolta. In those two movies, she earned Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress in Drama. Also in Woody Allen's "Match Point" (2005), she earned a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Other Appearances
She was cast as Mindy the Mermaid in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004), also appeared in one of the "The Client" episodes, aired on CBS. She moreover appeared in several talk shows as well, including Early Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Late show with Craig Kilborn, Sharon Osbourne Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Today Show, Late Show with David Letterman, and Live with Regis and Kelly.

Ongoing projects
"The Other Boleyn Girl". Scarlett is cast as Mary Boleyn. In this movie, she plays as Natalie Portman's sister. The two compete to win Eric Bana's love.
"The Nanny Diaries". Scarlett is cast as the nanny of a wealthy Manhattan family. It turns out that the family was a family from hell. This movie is going to be released in April 20, 2007.

Her future project includes: Napoleon and Betsy. This movie is going to be produced in 2007. Scarlett is cast as Betsy, Napoleon's sweetheart.

Scarlett apparently has a singing talent too. She sang the track "summertime" for a non-profit album, "Unexpected Dreams - Songs from the Stars" in between 2005-2006.
She is also going to release her album, "Scarlett Sings Tom Waits", consists entirely of her cover versions of Tom Waits songs, possibly released in Spring 2007.

Scarlett is a democrat and campaigned for John Kerry in the 2004 presidential election.

Scarlett donated 2,000 of her 'Hearts' shoes to refugees in Southern Sudan.
Scarlett joins Oxfam organisation and in 2007, visited India to see how the project went.
Scarlett gave away a Miami Flamingo house which she won during the 2007 SuperBowl to charity.
She joined anti-poverty campaign organized by Bono (the vocalist of music group U2). Also, she donated many items to Rocky Stone to be given to less fortunate kids as part of the Toy Mountain Campaign.

Scarlett also gained recognition in men's world. Currently MTV counted her in Most Alluring Women in Films list in March 2007, among them is renowned beauty, Marilyn Monroe. She's also in 2007 Playboy's Sexiest Women list.
Channel 4 voted her as one of '100 Greatest Sex Symbols' in February 2007 and FHM's 'Eligible Bachelorette' in the same year.
Esquire Magazine named her as the "Sexiest Woman Alive" in October 2006. The same title was given to her in FHM magazine's "100 Sexiest Women in the World 2006" supplement. She earned the third rank in the FHM UK edition.
On Maxim magazine's "Hot 100" list of 2006, Scarlett earned the sixth place.

Personal Life
For her love relationship, there are some boys' names such as Faiz Ahmad, Benicio Del Toro, Jared Leto and Josh Hartnett. Scarlett met Josh during the production of The Black Dahlia and they started their relationship in Nov 2006, but were rumored to be breaking up again by 2007.
